S.A.V.E. provides services for students with disabilities in grades 6-8. Located in Knox, Indiana, SAVE follows the Knox Community School Corporation calendar. It is an all day program (approximately 8:00-2:00 CST), which is led by a licensed special education teacher along with two instructional aides.
Plymouth Academy provides services for students with disabilities in grades 9-12. Located in Plymouth, Indiana (inside the JESSE Central Office). Plymouth Academy follows the Plymouth Community School Corporation calendar. Plymouth Academy offers a morning session (8:00-11:00 EST) and an afternoon session (12:003:00 EST). The program offers a wide variety of courses for high school credit. The classroom is led by a licensed special education teacher along with one instructional aide.
Both programs are designed for students who are typically undermotivated, academically and/or socially overwhelmed, or simply needing “something different” compared to the traditional school settings. Neither program is designed to serve as a self-contained (ED) behavioral classroom. Both programs serve as an extension of the participating school corporation, and all students remain a student of their home school corporation throughout the duration of their placement in the program.
